Komatsu Training
Academy.
A $6M purpose-built training academy for one of the world's largest mining equipment companies, designed and constructed by DesignFit under one contract.
The brief
Komatsu needed a purpose-built training facility for its Western Australian operations: a place to train people on serious equipment, to a standard that matches one of the biggest names in mining machinery. A project of that scale and standard needs a builder who can carry the design, the compliance and the construction without handing responsibility around.
The approach
DesignFit delivered the academy design and construct: one contract, one program, one accountable registered builder from first drawings to handover. Training spaces, offices and staff amenities were planned around how the facility actually runs, and the construction was self-delivered under DesignFit's own licence and insurance to industrial site standards.
The outcome
A $6M academy delivered on time and on budget, and a client relationship that speaks for itself. The Komatsu academy sits alongside repeat work for Epiroc and projects for Austal and Solstad in DesignFit's industrial portfolio. See our industrial fitout services.
